Lake Leslie, Warwick - 29th April

On the way home from Tasmania, we arranged to meet up with some friends from Hervey Bay at Lake Leslie for the May long weekend holiday. We had heard that the lake was full of water, the first time for many years. As it was after the Easter break we hoped that the camp area was not going to be too crowded.

As it panned out the weather was perfect and the park had plenty of free space.

Our native Noisy Miners know where to find a feed.

On our last day at the camp we were surprised to see the "blue-green algae" bloom to such an extent. The water was completely covered with a thick skin of algae. Water craft were creating a wake in the water that was bright green instead of white.
