During the days of The Depression, people used any material available to construct somewhere to live. Kerosene was used in those days for heating, lighting, cooking and refrigeration, therefore there were plenty of empty four gallon tins available. By cutting the tins along the seams and flattening them out they made excellent cladding for a dwelling. At least in an area like here when it didn't rain much, these tins soon rusted when used in wet conditions.
Behind the kerosene house stands other old memorabilia, like this old steam engine. All in all, an interesting stop-over.
