Calliope Rest Area

Hooray, we are on the road once again. Left Hervey Bay this morning at 11 AM and reached the Calliope Rest Area. We have stopped here twice before, it is an easy 3 hours or so on the road. Tomorrow we will break camp and make for Mackay. We will be visiting our friends Ian and Sue at Walkerston for a few days before we travel further north.
What a nice spot to enjoy a cool beer after a few hours drive. This is the exact same spot we camped at on the previous visit.

This eucalypt is above our van and I was sitting looking at our road maps and wondering why I was suffering from hay fever. The trees are covered in blossom. The Rainbow Lorrikeets knew it was there though.

The cheeky lorrikeets were raining gum nuts down on us.

Giving us "the eye".
